\/cat\/\u00a0Des de l\u2019Antic Teatre volem fer p\u00fablica la nostra valoraci\u00f3 respecte al comunicat recent de l\u2019Ajuntament de Barcelona que anuncia l\u2019expropiaci\u00f3 del local del carrer Verdaguer i Call\u00eds, 12, amb la voluntat de convertir-lo en un nou equipament cultural de titularitat p\u00fablica.<\/span><\/p>\n

Agra\u00efm a l\u2019Ajuntament de Barcelona que hagi iniciat el proc\u00e9s d\u2019expropiaci\u00f3 del local de l\u2019Antic Teatre, un pas necessari per garantir-ne l\u2019\u00fas p\u00fablic i preservar-lo com a espai cultural. I que es reconegui el valor d\u2019aquest lloc singular dins del teixit art\u00edstic i comunitari del barri de Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, i esperem que aquest gest institucional sigui nom\u00e9s l\u2019inici d\u2019un comprom\u00eds real amb el projecte que li dona vida.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tanmateix, volem deixar clar que aquest valor cultural no s\u2019ent\u00e9n sense el projecte que durant m\u00e9s de vint anys ha dut a terme l\u2019Antic Teatre: una activitat cultural arrelada al territori, de suport decidit a la creaci\u00f3 esc\u00e8nica contempor\u00e0nia independent i de proximitat, amb una programaci\u00f3 constant, compromesa i amb una clara vocaci\u00f3 de servei p\u00fablic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ens preocupa que el comunicat oficial no posi en relleu el paper fonamental que ha tingut i t\u00e9 l\u2019Antic Teatre en la consolidaci\u00f3 d\u2019aquest espai com a referent cultural.<\/b> \u00c9s aquest projecte \u2014iniciat, gestionat i sostingut per un equip de treballadores i col\u00b7laboradores del sector cultural\u2014 el que ha convertit aquest lloc en un centre de creaci\u00f3 actiu, reconegut i estimat per la comunitat art\u00edstica i ve\u00efnal, no pas una infraestructura buida que ara s\u2019omplir\u00e0 de contingut. <\/span>El risc, per tant, \u00e9s que es desvinculi l\u2019espai del projecte que li dona sentit.<\/b><\/p>\n

Reclamem, per tant, el reconeixement expl\u00edcit <\/span>de la lluita pol\u00edtica i cultural que, durant m\u00e9s de vint anys, ha dut a terme l\u2019Antic Teatre per preservar aquest espai i aconseguir el seu reconeixement com a patrimoni cultural de Barcelona.<\/b> Gr\u00e0cies a aquesta persist\u00e8ncia i a dues votacions al plenari municipal van garantir la <\/span>Modificaci\u00f3 del Pla General Metropolit\u00e0 aprovada l\u2019abril de 2023<\/b>. Aquesta fita no ha estat una iniciativa espont\u00e0nia institucional, sin\u00f3 el resultat directe de <\/span>la pressi\u00f3, el treball constant i l’organitzaci\u00f3 pol\u00edtica de l\u2019equip de l\u2019Antic Teatre<\/b>. Per aix\u00f2, exigim la participaci\u00f3 directa i vinculant de l\u2019Antic Teatre en la definici\u00f3 del futur d\u2019aquest espai, per garantir-ne la continu\u00eftat real i no nom\u00e9s formal. Sense aquest reconeixement i sense aquest comprom\u00eds, la preservaci\u00f3 que es proclama pot acabar sent una forma de despossessi\u00f3 cultural.<\/span><\/p>\n

Des de l\u2019Antic Teatre continuarem defensant la cultura de base, la creaci\u00f3 independent i la relaci\u00f3 viva amb el barri. No ens aturarem fins que aquest espai no sigui reconegut i consolidat com una Casa de Cultura o una F\u00e0brica de Creaci\u00f3, amb un conveni de gesti\u00f3 que reflecteixi els valors i la traject\u00f2ria que l\u2019han fet possible. Perqu\u00e8 preservar un espai \u00e9s tamb\u00e9 preservar el projecte que l\u2019ha mantingut viu, i garantir-ne el futur passa per recon\u00e8ixer el passat i escoltar a qui l\u2019ha constru\u00eft des de dins.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Desde el Antic Teatre queremos hacer p\u00fablica nuestra valoraci\u00f3n respecto al reciente comunicado del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona que anuncia la expropiaci\u00f3n del local de la calle Verdaguer i Call\u00eds, 12, con la intenci\u00f3n de convertirlo en un nuevo equipamiento cultural de titularidad p\u00fablica.<\/span><\/p>\n

Agradecemos al Ayuntamiento de Barcelona que haya iniciado el proceso de expropiaci\u00f3n del local del Antic Teatre, un paso necesario para garantizar su uso p\u00fablico y preservarlo como espacio cultural. Y que se reconozca el valor de este lugar singular dentro del tejido art\u00edstico y comunitario del barrio de Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera. Esperamos que este gesto institucional sea solo el inicio de un compromiso real con el proyecto que le da vida.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sin embargo, queremos dejar claro que este valor cultural no se entiende sin el proyecto que durante m\u00e1s de veinte a\u00f1os ha llevado a cabo el Antic Teatre: una actividad cultural arraigada al territorio, de apoyo decidido a la creaci\u00f3n esc\u00e9nica contempor\u00e1nea, independiente y de proximidad, con una programaci\u00f3n constante, comprometida y con una clara vocaci\u00f3n de servicio p\u00fablico.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nos preocupa que el comunicado oficial no destaque el papel fundamental que ha tenido y tiene el Antic Teatre en la consolidaci\u00f3n de este espacio como referente cultural.<\/b> Es este proyecto \u2014iniciado, gestionado y sostenido por un equipo de trabajadoras y colaboradoras del sector cultural\u2014 el que ha convertido este lugar en un centro de creaci\u00f3n activo, reconocido y querido por la comunidad art\u00edstica y vecinal, no una infraestructura vac\u00eda que ahora se llenar\u00e1 de contenido. <\/span>El riesgo, por tanto, es que se desvincule el espacio del proyecto que le da sentido.<\/b><\/p>\n

Reclamamos, por tanto, <\/span>el reconocimiento expl\u00edcito de la lucha pol\u00edtica y cultural que, durante m\u00e1s de veinte a\u00f1os, ha llevado a cabo el Antic Teatre para preservar este espacio y conseguir su reconocimiento como patrimonio cultural de Barcelona.<\/b> Gracias a esta persistencia y a dos votaciones en el pleno municipal se garantiz\u00f3 la <\/span>Modificaci\u00f3n del Plan General Metropolitano aprobada en abril de 2023<\/b>. Este hito no ha sido una iniciativa institucional espont\u00e1nea, sino el resultado directo <\/span>de la presi\u00f3n, el trabajo constante y la organizaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica del equipo del Antic Teatre.<\/b> Por eso, exigimos la participaci\u00f3n directa y vinculante del Antic Teatre en la definici\u00f3n del futuro de este espacio, para garantizar su continuidad real y no solo formal. Sin ese reconocimiento y sin ese compromiso, la preservaci\u00f3n que se proclama <\/span>puede acabar siendo una forma de desposesi\u00f3n cultural.<\/b><\/p>\n

Desde el Antic Teatre seguiremos defendiendo la cultura de base, la creaci\u00f3n independiente y la relaci\u00f3n viva con el barrio. No pararemos hasta que este espacio sea reconocido y consolidado como una Casa de Cultura o una F\u00e1brica de Creaci\u00f3n, con un convenio de gesti\u00f3n que refleje los valores y la trayectoria que lo han hecho posible. Porque preservar un espacio es tambi\u00e9n preservar el proyecto que lo ha mantenido vivo, y garantizar su futuro pasa por reconocer el pasado y escuchar a quienes lo han construido desde dentro.<\/b><\/p>\n

ANTIC TEATRE COMMUNIQUE REGARDING THE EXPROPIATION OF THE PREMISES AT VERDAGUER I CALL\u00cdS, 12<\/b><\/p>\n

We at Antic Teatre would like to make known our evaluation of the recent communique from Barcelona City Council announcing the expropriation of the premises at no.12, Verdaguer i Call\u00eds street, with the aim of making it into a new, public cultural venue.<\/p>\n

We are grateful to Barcelona City Council for initiating this expropriation process for the Antic Teatre premises, a necessary step to ensure its continued public use and preservation as a cultural establishment, and recognition of the value provided by this unique venue within the artistic and community infrastructure of the Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera neighbourhood. We hope that this gesture from the authorities marks the start of a genuine commitment to this project that contributes so much to the community.<\/p>\n

At the same time, we would like to make clear that there can be no cultural value without the actual project that Antic Teatre has been running for more than twenty years: cultural activities rooted in the community, providing decisive support to contemporary, independent and local performance creation, with a continuous and committed programme of a clear public service character.<\/p>\n

We are concerned that the official communique does not highlight the fundamental role played by Antic Teatre in the consolidation of this venue as a cultural reference. <\/b>It is our project \u2013 initiated, managed and maintained by a team of workers and collaborators from the cultural sector \u2013 that has turned the premises into an active centre for creation, recognised and loved by the local and artistic communities; it is not an empty building waiting to be filled with content. The risk, we believe, is that the venue be disassociated from the project that gives it meaning.<\/b><\/p>\n

We therefore request the explicit recognition of the political and cultural struggle that Antic Teatre has carried out for more than twenty years in its efforts to save the venue and obtain recognition of its value as part of the cultural heritage of Barcelona. <\/b>Thanks to these constant endeavours and two votes in the municipal plenary sessions, we were included in the Modification of the General Metropolitan Plan approved in April 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/b> This achievement was not a spontaneous initiative on the part of the authorities, but a direct result of the pressure, constant work and political organisation of the Antic Teatre team.<\/b>\u00a0 <\/span>For this reason, we demand the direct and binding participation of Antic Teatre in the future definition of this venue, in order to guarantee a real, and not merely formal, continuity for our project. Without such recognition or commitment, the announced preservation could end up as a form of cultural dispossession. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We at Antic Teatre will continue to defend grassroots culture, independent creation and a live relationship with our neighbourhood. We will not rest until this venue is recognised and consolidated as either a House of Culture or a Creation Factory, with a management agreement that reflects the values and trajectory that have made it possible in the first place. Because saving a venue is also about saving the project that has given it life, and guaranteeing its future needs to be based in recognising its past and listening to those who have built it up from the inside. We are preparing, and will invite you to, our press conference specifically on this subject.<\/b><\/p>\n
