Orquestina de Pigmeos present Let The Tide In in the Penryn Arts Festival. 28th July.
Orquestina de Pigmeos present a six-hour site-specific performance, a gathering in which we´ll celebrate and feast upon the life and landscape of Penryn’s harbour as it is transformed while the waters rise. Ruled by the tide, a series of everyday actions alongside different interventions made with local inhabitants of Penryn will take place. (Wear suitable footwear and clothing for uneven surfaces and weather).
Where: Church Beach (Muddy Beach), below St Gluvias Church. Penryn. Cornwall. United Kingdom.
When: Sunday 28th July, 4.46PM to 10.20PM. (From low water at 16.46h to high water 22.20h). For the performane you can stay for the duration or leave and return again.
Orquestina de Pigmeos is a Spanish experimental collective dedicated to site-specific intervention and formed on this occasion by Chus Dominguez and Nilo Gallego. Their creations use elements from different artistic disciplines (music, video, sound art, performance) and require the cooperation of local residents and public participation.
This work has been commissioned and produced by Falmouth University, Articulating Space Research Centre and the Performance Centre in cooperation with Penryn Arts Festival.
